Sustainable Livelihoods

• In the GHR programme, Striga Resistance seeds of soybean and maize were purchased to increase the quality of farming system by 20% in the communities.
• To increase access to agricultural business and expertise in responding to opportunities, GHR committees in communities were trained on enterpreneurship and business management.
• Sensitization and identification of potential community leaders was carried out for 20 GHR community leaders and traditional rulers to understand their roles and carry them out.

Education

• SBMC Mentoring Visit: 27 communities was visited for SBMC mentoring/monitoring. The aim of the visit for the SBMC is that they should have idea or knowledge on how to mobilize their resource and also applying it as part of their roles and Responsibilities. A total of 356 SBMC members attended the meetings.
• Some of the schools got grant for school funding for repairs /maintenance. It mostly captures minor issues around the school. This is in line with their school Development plan. School Development plan is a plan drawn up by SBMC for minor school maintenance. The grant is given by ESSPIN as part of school support through SUBEB. The criteria used for the amount given are based on the total number of children per school.N300 per child x total number of children.
• Youth Meeting: There will be a meeting with 15 youth from 3 communities Kairapi, Rafin kara, kafari 2 and Asiliko (Buda)
