Reading Festival 2010
The 2nd Edition of the maiden Reading Festival held at Hope for the Village Child Foundation is designed to encourage reading culture in our community schools. This years edition marks the official children's day as it was held 2 days after the celebration. About 100 children attended from 13 primary schools which include these communities, Panzato, Pambawa, Rafin Koria, Kafari 2, Gona Isa, Panja, Sabo Gida Bugai, Sunkuchi, Koche-koche, Unguwan Mainisara, Pantaki, Damishi and Kanrafi.

Through the fundraising efforts of the HVCF Fundraising Team, donations for the reading festival were received from:
- Panaf Schools Barnawa - N30,000
- Igabi Education Secretary - N10,000
- Pepsi - 5 Crates of Minerals
- NNPC - Notebooks, T-Shirts and Facecaps
Advocacy to Igabi Local Government Education Authority
Advocacy visit was carried out to Igabi Education Secretary for adoption of Rafin Kara School. He was very impressed with HVCF work in the communities and promised that the LGEA will take over the school after this school year. He said will also write a letter of commendation to Hope for the Village Child for the work in rural communities.
